New player in Tanzania’s ride-hailing market: Maxim launches in country’s capital

Maxim, an international ride-hailing and delivery service, is happy to announce its upcoming launch in the cities of Dodoma and Mwanza. Clients will have an opportunity to order rides and other services with the prices starting from TSh1000, and driver-partners will be able to keep all the money they make for completing orders.

The service offers several reasonably priced rates that meet different clients’ needs. For example, the Boda rate is for those who prefer fast and affordable motorcycle rides (from TSh1000), and the Bajaji rate is perfect for groups of friends looking for a bajaji ride (from TSh1900). In addition, the Car rate is an ideal choice for people who appreciate comfort (from TSh3000), and the Delivery rate is a great solution for ordering goods from shops.

Maxim’s main advantage is its affordable prices: they are 15% lower than current market offers. Moreover, the company’s services are ordered through a convenient and safe mobile app. Ordering a ride won’t take more than just a few taps on your screen — place an order, wait for your ride, see all the booking details in the app in real time. Also, you use a service for purchasing and delivering food products and vital goods. This is the new way of coping with everyday routine: everything you need is in a single app.

To protect its passengers and drivers, Maxim applies several safety strategies. Mobile communication between the client and the driver-partner is implemented through special SIP-calls, which prevents personal phone number exchange. With the built-in real-time ride tracking function, clients can share their location with their friends and family. All ride data is saved in the service’s storage system.

Another important element of Maxim’s ride safety and security framework is the SOS button. In case of an emergency, the panic signal from a passenger is sent directly to the company’s support service and then transferred to law enforcement. If a driver-partner activates the SOS button, their “colleagues” nearby will get a special distress notification and come to help.

In addition, Maxim provides all of its driver-partners with high-visibility vests, as is required by the road traffic regulations.

“Currently, not all road users comply with the obligatory road traffic requirement to wear high-visibility vests. So, we decided to take care of this safety matter for our driver-partners and handed out these vests to them in advance,” says Franklin Foy, head of Maxim Dodoma.

Maxim offers favorable terms for new driver-partners: they will not have to pay any fees at the start of work in Tanzania. This means that they will get all the money earned by completing orders, while driving their own vehicle and on their own schedule. These conditions will make Maxim the most lucrative option for driver-partners among other ride-hailing services that hold back 15–27% of trip earnings as commission. The company is already looking for driver-partners who would like to join their team by signing up in the Taxsee Driver app.

Maxim’s launch will be an important step for the city, set to create new jobs, increase the accessibility of urban transportation, and — most importantly — provide safer and more convenient ways of daily travelling for the residents of Tanzania.
